The fake collage project started in 2006 and oh boy the real John Evans is trilled and amused.

I spoke with him a few days ago and he said that some of them are really well done. He is amazed how some artists captured his style with their own style. And new ones show up every day.

John Evans likes to use found bits of paper off the street and bright colors.

If you can, send the original to him but first make some copies of your work and send them out to people in your network. This will help the project grow. Looking forward to seeing your style applied to this.

Ja, so ist es...und die ursprüngliche Bedeutung des Wortes hatte ja so etwas Verruchtes und magisch-Verbotetnes an sich - zumindest zum Zeitpunkt der Entlehnung - dass man sich einer Umschreibung bediente ... im Laufe der Zeit ging die negative Konotation des Wortes verloren

Jh.), Entlehnung von frz. salope ‘unsauber, schmutzig, nachlässig’, das sich aus substantivischem salope, älter saloppe f. ‘sich vernachlässigende, unsaubere, unanständige Frau’ entwickelt hat. Dieses ist wahrscheinlich ein Kompositum aus afrz. frz. sale ‘schmutzig, unrein, trübe’ (wohl aus anfrk. *salo entlehnt, vgl. ahd. salo, mhd. sal ‘dunkelfarbig, welk, trübe, schmutzig’, s. Salweide) und frz. hoppe, Dialektform von frz. huppe ‘Wiedehopf’. Der Vogel, der sich zur Tarnung auf den Boden zu kauern und mit Erde zu bedecken pflegt, gilt allgemein als schmutziges Tier, vgl. frz.
