We’d like you to send two letters or postcards, one with a first class stamp and one with a second class stamp, to:
You and Yours, Dock House, Salford, M50 2BH.
Please include your name and the date of posting. Two postcards or envelopes will do.
Taking part should cost £1.10 (60p for a first class stamp, 50p for a second class stamp). You’ll be helping us with a UK-wide experiment, and we’ll feature the results in a programme soon.
Thanks so much for the mail art! Your self-portrait with your cat Fleur is so sweet. A blue siamese --- she must have been beautiful and I hope that she had a long and feisty life with you.
I'll start working on something for you, and maybe my Josefina will help ......
I'm glad that you liked the little hanging tag that I made for you. It was lots of fun to make!
That little black and white cat was a very friendly resident at the boarding school that my nephew used to attend. The cat also reminded me of my cat Jean-Claude (1977-1989), who was a real sweetheart.
No problem, Martha. I totally understand. I'm happy you enjoyed the bookie. I can send you the "folding" instructions sometime if you want to make your own bookie. They are fun to make. Have a great time on your vacation! Thank you for blogging about it :^)
Hi Martha....just returned from a long vaca and ..YES ! your banana day mailart has been received => => BTW...I am known as 'Deanna Banana' by some and my husband just call's me 'Banana' with a brit accent ...so I know a thing or 2 about banana's and how to be one as well => Many Thx Martha for your clever MailART Deanna Banana
like assembling press in a window for street : actualy on display : brain cell , phoenix declaration , notice sur le Musée de la conserve , une annonce officielle Librairies en fète , la présentation of a way of drilling horizontal , cela évite de creuser des tranchées ( il va y avoir des travaux pour la pose de nouveaux égouts )
Wow - just been looking at all yur received mailart and your photos of the Sigean trip - fantastic. looking forward to a snailarty chat on Saturday at the Windmill :>)
Pigs! What a great thing to draw. I would've liked to have been there. Too tricky to fit it in this time but Tate Britain in Jan perfect! Some of us are meeting in Suffolk next weekend. You're always welcome here too!

Did Keth Bates make one of these name-artistamps for you? If so, could you send me the images (r.janssen@iuoma.org , of just publish it here? Am collecting all the logo's....
I was going to send you an Easter Egg, but think I'll eat it instead.
The vanguard artist strategy sheets are interesting. I can think of two others: i) Deanmarksism, ii) bricolage (which I always thought was found art, or trash art or even arte povere, but on reading the recent obituary of the Austrian artist Frank/Franz West found out that he called this stuff bricolage. There are lots of bricolage shops in France that don't sell art).
I'll be mailing you something back soon.
Hope you are both well, nay all 3 of you as I mustn't forget the shopping trolley.
are the old crowd wiser and work on paper? I am daily involved in dog/cat shelter charities works , and work in a municipality office, so always frustrated with my parallel life (artist) and if I have to choose I would say I prefer paper, cutouts, glue, scissors. I am guilty because I work part time in order to have mondays free for artist work.... It does not work very much because women temptations often win (to iron, houseworks and put the home at the minimum levels of neatness) But I'm still fighting!
Martha!!! Your fabulous envelope arrived today. I LOVE both pieces-the alcoholic trashpo is fantastic and the story even better--I love that it became interactive between you and the waiter. Also the beach piece is whimsical and I will blog at my soonest. Thank you and I hope my piece has arrived by now. I also feel as though I will have to put some more 'classy' trashpo in the mail to you:) hugs
