Why I am involved in Mail-Art:
I started sending out handmade postcards to friends of mine several years ago. Basically, they were a quick way to get something made when I couldn't come up with ideas for larger projects. Soon, they became an end in themselves. Now, it's something of a passion, whenever I have spare time.

Currently, I am unable to load pictures to IUOMA's website. I'm very sorry about that. I've enjoyed sharing all of the wonderful have sent me over the years. Please know, that I will send you something back, every time. It may take me a while, but I promise, I will always reply with more art.

I should add that I am very bad about add-and-pass activities. You should not send me anything like that. But I will send you something I've made.

See you in the post.

CB, New Mexico isn't called the Land of Enchantment for nothing! I think it's a well-kept secret; most don't even think we're in the Union! It's got an ambiance that is difficult to describe, but it's innocent and spiritual and creative. It's a mile-high city - just like our "sister" to the North Denver, but it's more earthy, more distinct. Not much water, but abundant turquoise skies and crimson and burnt orange sunsets. It's sweet! Anytime you'd like to talk about it, I'm in! Yes, yes, let's share some art! I would be honored and pleased! - Kitty

CB, am I going to get something? I'm here where the sun shines and cottonwoods are changing to yellow. The sandhill cranes are migrating along the Rio Grande, red and green chili is flowing.

Thanks for the welcome and mail art. When and where in NM do youall think about making your move? This NE corner of our state is inexpensive compared to ohter areas of NM. We are 5 hrs from Albuquerque, 4 from Taos, 6 from Colorado Springs CO, almost 3 to Amarillo TX (our nearest airport, walmart and other 21stC stuff). We sold our home in Taos years ago but still call it home and go over often. What are your and your wife's interests and what do you and your wife seek in NM? dh or I may be able to make recomendations 4 you . Lani in NM where my INS has been acting up.

    Hi, James,

I feel extra special receiving your book, then! Berti is also CB James but she is someone I know from another online art site and I was surprised to see she was in Vallejo! LOL

I do a lot of carving (as evidenced on the card I sent you) and that's the group I knew her from.

Is the CB like CB radio? Nice to 'meet' you through IUOMA. :)

    Hello,
The good news is mail art is on it's way!
The bad news is in my haste to get it in the mail this morning I forgot to take a photo. Is there anyway you could take a pic of the front and back and email them or let me know when you post them here on Ning and I'll copy them from there? I like the keep pics for archives. It has a duck on it :)
    Thanks so much
  • Itty Bitty Kitty

will do!! Thanks so much :)
  • Itty Bitty Kitty

Thanks for the pics. That is hillarious about your bunny. I have 2 bunnies and I know what little menaces they can be sometimes. Thank goodness they are so darn adorable ;)

Hello hello! No need to feel guilty about misplaced mail -- the Network has its' own sense of time and character, so I completely understand when missives disappear and then resurface. It happens to me -all the time- ! Looking forward to corresponding in the new year...

  • Pamela Gerard

Thanks for the great card - it arrived today and it looks great! Will send you one back.
  • Jennie Hinchcliff

James -- that would be fun, to meet up in Vallejo! Sadly (due to lack of car), it's a rare thing indeed when I make it outside of the SF city limits...I'm turning into one of those old-timers who barely leaves the neighborhood they grew up in! :-) But next time there's a road trip in my future that takes me in your general direction, I'll give you a shout. Thanks again for the lovely postcard; I love your work.
  • Pamela Gerard

James -- Glad you got it. Funny, but the labels were new -- from the chili I had just made!

Happy birthday, James! I am sending out some mail art tomorrow as a belated birthday greeting. I hope you're enjoying your day. I used to live In San Diego and Malibu, CA. Loved it there!
  • Valentine Mark Herman

Bonsoir aka CB James ('akaCB', without a space would be better),

I wonder, i) why you coillect Santas, and where they live when it's not ChristmasJ It's nice to see them all come out to play in the middle of summer.  ii) what your hound is called? Paul?

Thanks for the card that you sent me. It got a bit battered in the post, and was sort of just about hanging together, but it made it all the way to France. it raises another question: what are you going to make a list of?

I'll be mailing you something back soon.

Hope you have a good summer.

    Regards, Val

  • Sarah Churchill

Thank you for the card, James! I love the car - it's a shame they don't make them like that any more ;)
