Anyway, Cheryl made me very happy with this fine Zalop on a beautiful Envelop!

I am very much in need of a word that the English language does not have. I think this is the place to ask for a term that designates those deprived and deluded people that are not Mail Artists, let alone Iuomartists. It should include both the general population and artists who do not practise Mail Art.

Perhaps Zlober, any suggestions?

Mail Art Martha - I've just been given two new words!! Perhaps one of them will be that - they just TELL you what they mean once you've said them out loud - the one means "NO WAYS am I going with you" and the other - well - I've just got to get through the next two days then I'll hear what it whispers :-)) XX

But Cheryl will be back one day...let her take a break for now. She has a big book exhibit going on in So. Africa and she has worked hard getting us all together in collaborations. Time for a vacation...ZALOP and Zolop and Zolip will go on :-)

Open Call for Submissions

Eyedrum Art & Music Gallery is pleased to announce that it will present Zalop: Illusory Correspondence Art, to open February 15, 2014 and run through March 16, 2014.

The show will comprise a wide range of styles and media. The curator will consider old, new, Fluxus, Asemic, MailArt, performance scores/art, add-and-pass sheets, stamp sheets, videos, postcards, copy/xerox art, objects: found/sculptural/etc..., collage, mixed media, installation, and audio files. Although there are no size or media restrictions, please thoroughly specify media, dimensions/time details, technical needs (such as electricity) and any other information pertinent to the display of your work(s). Only original work that has not been previously shown or presented will be considered. 

Entries must be postmarked by January 17, 2014 and must be received by February 1, 2014. Artists, please include your name, title, medium, website and email address with your work.

Artists submitting perishable entries should notify Eyedrum of intent to submit by the deadline, including complete information on the work, but the work itself should arrive at the gallery between February 3 and 10, 2014.

Proposals/scripts for performance or process-based/decomposition/
non-mailable/time-sensitive work may be sent immediately.

Proposals and completed work should be mailed to the address below. All submissions will be archived online.

As a non-native English speaker words like 'cap' and 'hat' are difficult to me. This was noticed by the famous neurologist Zalop, who (incorrectly) thought of the diagnosis lectical agnosia. She wrote this book on this subject. Which flatters me though.

I think I tried to play that score once on my drums. I should try again with my no-input mixer and synth.

I don't know, res. We see the interest in Zalop. People have asked about Trashpo. IUOMA has many new members. Questions about all this debris scattered around the site seem only natural.
