That was a nice hot BLUE cup of tea that Suus in Mokum sent me...

but they serve Maine brandy here at the cafe...sure, go for it! xxx

  • Nancy Bell Scott

They do? Wow. Though since the nice hot cup of tea from Suus is BLUE, there's no question that would be the choice for you, Kat!

  • Dan Mouer

Hmmm. I have seen gin that is deep blue, but I might balk at blue tea...even in a cafe on the sands of the Aegean!
  • Nancy Bell Scott

There are limits, it's true. I once made blue spaghetti. It wasn't popular.

  • vizma bruns

Yum, home grown snow peas to eat and home grown ruby grapefruit to drink...with tequila of course! Sideways again cos you lot are all asleep on top of the world!!! Nah, my computer hates me...

  • Katerina Nikoltsou (MomKat)

Aw, Viz...me is here at the cafe in Greek morning time.

And if I recliine on the couch with the laptop,

like at an ancient Greek symposium dinner...

well, the pasta and beans are upright. :-)

    Cheers!

  • Katerina Nikoltsou (MomKat)

and folks...the "tea" is  golden honey brown color...

the tea cup is BLUE! "BLUE cup"...of tea, see?

  • vizma bruns

I don't know about the blue pasta though, I've made a sauce with blue cheese, is that what you mean, Nancy? Or did you pour blue curacao on it??

  • Rod Summers / VEC

    I drink my tea green in a mug with sheep on it and then I put in acacia honey which is... honey coloured.  I once dyed rice green but then couldn't eat it. My new pickled beetroot is both red and delicious:}

  • Nancy Bell Scott

Viz, I put blue food coloring in the spaghetti water while it cooked. It worked! And it was ugly!

Some of my painted book pages are stained with wine, beet juice, brandy, or green tea or pau d'arco tea.

  • Katerina Nikoltsou (MomKat)

Blue spaghetti, eh? Will have to try that...

but not green rice, Rod! hahaha!

    Some really nice colored tea:

  • Nancy Bell Scott

Oh, no, it's not recommended. :--} Gorgeous tea color there.

  • Zois

After beautiful chilled blue ice, have a share of my warm dense espresso with a lot of cinnemon and the chocolate thing down at here at the café.

  • vizma bruns

    Mail art coffee!

  • Katerina Nikoltsou (MomKat)

Fantastic , Vizma! Now you are really having fun with those apps!

    Great stuff!

  • Dan Mouer

    Vizma,

Did you mail me that cuppa?

  • Zois

Oh Vizma, that's fab!    A little tart with art, eh?  What kind of tart is it?

  • vizma bruns

    Ha! An Art Tart, Elizabeth!

Dan, I wouldn't want to spill it, I'm sending Bad art instead, warn your mail box!

  • Katerina Nikoltsou (MomKat)

  • Katerina Nikoltsou (MomKat)

Thanks, Ruud, now to get the mug! :-)

  • Katerina Nikoltsou (MomKat)

Memories Made of This exhibition in Hadleigh Library Day 1/2 today.

A mother and her two children came into the library at 4pm, I approached them, saying that I didn't know if they had time but that I had a mail art exhibit and a 'making table'. MAIL ART she said, 'I'd be very interested to see that… mu dad was a correspondence artist.' Her dad is Michael Lumb! Bizarre coincidence in a rural Suffolk village!

I have four windows at the library and an alcove just for Simon Warren - he sent me more than 135 pieces!

  • Claire (aka Cleo)

    Wow, looks great Rebecca! :)

  • Katerina Nikoltsou (MomKat)

Congrats, Rebecca! That is a fantastic exhibit in-the-windows!

How about a hot choco today in the Cafe:

Time to get the Cafe ready for the New Year 2014:

Greek Vasilopita and a few twinkle lights:

  • Katerina Nikoltsou (MomKat)

    and the bubbly:

  • Katerina Nikoltsou (MomKat)

Let me bring the Greek New Year bread: Vasilopita, a bit closer...

and SMILE going into 2014 :-)

  • Zois

This evening I'd sure enjoy your company with your Vasilopita as well as the bubbly.  Until then for this afternoon lunch, hop on down to the Flying Chicken to share some Hoppin' John?  I'll even read the squirrel story to you.

  • Katerina Nikoltsou (MomKat)

Happy Mail Art New Year 2014, Liz!

Good to see you at the Cafe, gal from Troy :-)

'Would love to come by for Hoppin' John and I'd bring along

    Sunday sippin' tea

  • Katerina Nikoltsou (MomKat)

Time to gather at the Cafe

and have a nice soothing tea?

Or a Hot Chocolate for our friends in the snow and below-zero weather? How about a nice cold beer for the Aussies :-)

I'll have a hot choco thanks...(in a BLUE cup, sure!)

  • Katerina Nikoltsou (MomKat)

    Anyone want some PUDDING?

  • Katerina Nikoltsou (MomKat)

    Make that CHOCOLATE pudding, please!

  • Heleen de Vaan

    Thank you, enjoy your dessert!
I would love to (chocolate pudding, and coffee, with milkm no sugar please), but alas no, I first have to eat my pumpkin/red-lentils soup (orange!). And here you see a picture.... I was too long at the computer (IUOMA) now, and the soup first was watery, but now it has been cooking dry!...

  • Zois

Thanks for waiting for me.  So good to come in here to warm up.

blue linen for Katerina, tea for all. Heleen, milk for your tea is just to the right where you can't see it .

  • Heleen de Vaan

Thank you, Elizabeth, too! Tea with a 'wolkje melk' (- 'a little cloud of  milk') is delicious, too!

  • Zois

Heleen, as in the foam on espresso?

  • Heleen de Vaan

No, a real 'cloud'  inside of the tea! :-)
See for instance here (but after stirring, the milk and tea mix so the cloud dissolves).
    Enjoy your cup of tea!

  • Zois

Oh, yes, the cloud!  It is a real cloud!  thanks.

  • Rod Summers / VEC

Anyone fancy a slice of my new bread with butter and strawberry jam?
