Manhole covers in the Dutch city Den Haag (also known as ‘s-Gravenhage and The Hague). The stork is part of the coat of arms of The Hague, and apparently also of the manhole covers :-)

The green building at the left of the postcard is one of the (many) pubs in Wivenhoe. I used to drink there. The University of Essex is in Wivenhoe, and many, many years ago Joanne and I used to work in the Government Department there
