L'art au Lavoir 2024

After the continuing success of last years L’art au lavoir, I am pleased to announce a fourth edition this summer. The idea is for artists (professional or amateur) to send me a postcard sized piece of art/collage/mixed media/photo/poem etc. This years theme is 'Air'. You could explored the intangible nature of air by representing its effects on objects, such as bending plants, swirling gusts in trees. Or the movements in smoke and steam. Air signs in astrology, characterized by action, thought, and changeability. The qualities of air such as lightness, movement, and freedom. How with relevance today it could even include air pollution, climate change, air research, and what individuals can do to reduce their impact on the quality of our air. I want to bring awareness to the planet’s environmental challenges, at the same time bringing a creative experience, enriched by art from around the world. I will create a free outdoor exhibition of these artworks at the lavoir (old wash house), in Dun-Le-Palestel, France. Please send artworks to, Le Lavoir Projet, 4 Rue De Dunet, Dun-Le-Palestel, 23800, France. Put your name and address on the back with any contact details, and an arrow indicating which way up the piece should be displayed. The exhibition will take place in July and August 2024, so works need to get to me before the end of June. Unfortunately artworks will not be able to be returned, unless you are in collecting distance, and state this on the back. Any sales of any of the works will go towards promotion of the project and earth related charities. There is also always a small risk that some of the artwork could be stolen, as this is an open air event in a public place. So I can not take any responsibility for this, but I'm counting on the honesty and conscience of the public.
