Dear Fleur, from the bottom of my heart I wish you recovery from your illness! Your Ilya
I'm really glad to be able to stand. This morning I was able to walk normally --- though slowly --- without the need for my cane or my walker. I'm able to do laundry and wash the dishes quite easily.
I hope that my problems with sitting will resolve themselves when the stitches across my hip joint finally dissolve. If I'm still having problems, I'll get a wedge pillow. Thank for you for the tip, Katerina.
In the meantime, I have some ideas for fun new art pieces and I'm looking forward to getting back to work.
Take time to rest and heal carefully, Fleur.
With my steel back brace, I cannot sit very long either,
so most of my mail art is made while reclining in bed with a "wedge" pillow,
or more often now , I do it standing at a high counter in the kitchen...
Stand Tall :-)
Take care and stay safe everyone!
Hello Martha,
I'll look forward to the next Foldilope. I know that it will help to cheer me up!
I am getting better and am looking forward to getting back to my art table. I have some new ideas, which is always a good sign. My main problem is that I cannot sit for longer than half an hour. Standing and lying down is no problem, but sitting is painful. I guess that's because of where the fracture happened.
I hope that your problems with this site get resolved. I haven't spent much time here but I haven't noticed any problems.
Take care, Martha and everyone else. Stay safe.
Thank you, Katerina. That's a lovely card!
For those of you who might not know: on Monday, November 9th, I was doing household errands and getting ready for another week of making mail art. I have a lot of projects and mail to art to respond to, with many ideas in mind.
However, when I was walking home from the grocery store that afternoon, I tripped on a bad piece of pavement and broke my leg. I had to go to the hospital for orthopedic surgery.
They were able to rebuild my leg and hip without the need for a cast. However, I'm facing a long recovery and it will be a while before I'll have enough energy to make mail art.
Feel free to send anything that you like. Just be aware that it might take a few weeks for me to respond.
Cheers to you all.
