What topics do you normally shy away from when making mail-art?

For me,Mail-art is a form of resistance and I use it as such most times.Drawing on bills, graffiti on credit card offers, and sending material to countries in which censorship is rampant just for…Continue

Art sent by electronic mail; is it art? 11 Replies

My answer to that is that art is in the psyque. What we see or hear is its outside manifestation, according to the medium  chosen. I love and practise all kinds of artistic techniques and enjoy every…Continue

Can you send digitally made art by email also? Or just mail art, scanned and emailed?

Begging is OK with me, not proud, but you are right as it is not working. They will come over from their own accord. There is a gaucho saying ; hasta la hacienda baguala cae al jaguel con la seca, whcih means Even wild horses come to drink at the trough in times of draught.

MARTHA,  just do more art, make some mail, send a letter to yr mp. and a post-master or buy  stamps for sale, but do not ask for other members,

thats like begging, in 10 years this will attract others.

Perhaps we should start a campaing by uploading email art directly to members' pages. We could have an official catch frase included like The E-Mail Art Group is (something) join us!

I agree and always try to get people to join but there is a reluctance to do electronic anything. Most of my snail mail art is printed e-art, at the moment though I am doing a lot of collages by hand which is nice too. the time will come that snail mail will disappear, it is heading that way here. Prices will be up again in April.

I think we are not using it the way you meant, do we? It has been transformed into a platform for electronic art for its on sake. I am wrong to believe you were interested more in traditional art being scanned and sent by email?
