On the main page it reads:

In 1988 the idea of the IUOMA was born. In 2002 a Yahoo group was started. In November 2008 this IUOMA platform became the home for members.

In 2013 the IUOMA will be 25 years old. This group is made to prepare this special event.

Comment by Ruud Janssen on November 10, 2012 at 5:38pm: Reading through old notes I found the date that the word / abbreviation IUOMA was first mentioned. That date is August 16th 1988. So that makes is the definitive date of celebration.
