THE ONE THOUSAND PEACE CRANE GOAL HAS BEEN REACHED AS OF 1/6/12. (PLEASE DO NOT SEND ANY MORE PEACE CRANES.)

Thank you to everyone who made peace cranes!

There's a story told in Japan that if you make a thousand origami Peace Cranes, you or someone you love will be healed. This group is for those who wish to make an origami Peace Crane which will then be sent to the Hiroshima Peace Museum.

Four were made with real origami papers sent to me from Japan!

Comment by McFloozy on May 19, 2011 at 2:51am: I used a lot of various magazine pages, pretty much anything with nice colors and textures, also a few sheets of origami paper, and some calendar sheets. Calendar pages are sometimes too thick to fold well. I was very pleased at how well the magazine pages hold a crease. I'm getting pretty good at cutting squares!
