i like the ships passing in the night metaphor, Amazon =)) is it an existing idiom or invented it yourself?

I have been a member of postcrossing for months now and there's only been one person who wanted handmade cards. Disappointing! I requested handmades in my profile and have gotten zero, although alot of people have sent me cards that did have other things I asked for (horses, specific words in their own language). I had hoped for some direct swaps but so far nothing. I think that part of the postcrossing site is confusing (or at least is was the last time I checked).

All in all, it's a cool idea and I've enjoyed being a part of it.

Hi - I have received hand made ones - only a few - but they were quite nice. Maria F -if you look at the last line of a person's "profile" on postcrossing it will tell you if they are interested in direct swaps - most people have no checked. I have not head any offers but I keep it open.
I send handmade ones if they don't say no - but really I feel you can send whatever you want - it is a crossing of posts and like ships passing in the night - you don't get to vote on the other's ship's colors.
Enjoy!

I agree with your point guys :)
Sometimes I will send people my handmade cards if they have no preferences, and they always appreciate them ^^ I think they are happy to receive something that someone actually took the time to make for them
I put mail art as one of my preferences on Postcrossing before I even knew about IUOMA! But I haven't actually received any handmade cards via Postcrossing besides Private Swaps.

I havent received anything yet - im less than a month in.

i am going to send handmade one too. it will make my work even more attentive since i know handmade cards are questionably accepted in postcrossing. the better experience of receiving hand made stuff might change the whole conception of the site, couldnt it? well, no im not like going to convert the society into mail art =)))) hahahha this thought made me laugh and it would be really funny if it turns out that way.

let s try and show people what their own imagination can create with just having scissors, paper, some paint and old mags.

I have been doing postcrossing for a few months now and totally love it. It is a bit sad that there are so many people who mention on their profile that they don't want handmade cards. I think maybe they just don't know what they're missing. If they don't mention it specifically I will usually send one I made. Has anyone else done this? And has anyone received any hand made ones?
