The theme for this Mail Art project is “Honoring Artists,” in recognition of the role of artists to inspire the world through their work.

There’s no cost to participate.

Create and have fun.

Mail Art Movement

Mail Art is a global artistic movement centered on sending small-scale artworks through the postal service.

Media commonly used in Mail Art includes postcards, paper, rubber stamps, artist-created stamps (called artistamps), photography and paint, but can also include music, sound art, poetry, or anything that can be put in an envelope and sent via global postal services, such as a collage of recycled images and objects.

Mail art is considered art once it is sent.

I did receive a response from George Alger at Our Ventura. He assured me that the address above is valid, and that the program is active and is receiving mail art from around the world.

I'm going to try to resend my big postcard, although I will spell out the name of the organization this time!

Not sure what is up with this mail art call, but the large postcard I sent them to the address listed here was returned to me today. There art two stickers on the card: one says "unable to forward" and the other says "unclaimed."

I sent a message to the show's organizers asking for clarification, and I'll post a comment here if I receive a reply.
