WOULD ANYONE LIKE A PERSONALISED I CHING HEXAGRAM PRINT?

Bonjour!

I am currently printing up a series of I Ching Hexagrams and wonder if anyone would like one?

There are 64 different Hexagrams. Here are two of them:

If you would like a personalised 6-line Hexagram (or two)*, you have to follow these steps:

1. Get three identical coins

2. Throw the coins together. Each head counts 3 point, each tail counts 2 points.

3. Add up the result of your throw -- it will be 6, 7, 8 or 9.

4. Write this number down.

5. Throw the coins 5 more times, and each time add up the number of points you get.

6. You will then have 6 numbers, eg 768697

7. Write these down in the order -- the exact sequence of numbers is important -- that you threw the dice

And then:

1. send me a piece of Mail Art that includes your sequence of 6 numbers (or two sequences of 6 numbers if you want 2 Hexagrams)

2. choose what colour Hexagram(s) you want. The choices are:

-- gold and black (as shown above)

 -- red and gold

 -- purple and gold.

I will print up the Hexagrams on 1 March (a special I Ching day) and mail them back to you.

Regards, Val

* You will aslo probably receive a punnekin as I have lots more waiting to be adopted.

Thank you, Alan. That's as clear as a Wivenhoe mud-flat.

Now, if you want a Hexagram, please send me the 6 numbers as requested.

(I often wonder why are there so many smart-arses around here who just don't follow the simplest instructions?)

Unicode is a system for specifying characters in computer fonts; it covers just about every writing system you can think of and a lot of signs and symbols, like hexagrams — U+4DE0 (sorry, I missed off the U+) is the number specifying that particular one ䷠䷠䷠䷠䷠䷠䷠䷠䷠䷠ (looks a bit small here but I hope it works on your computer)

Alan:

What on earth is ('Unicode 4DE0)? A military call-sign? An ID for a Wivenhoe taxi?

PS. The answer to your PS is in the post.

I threw six metal ems and the result was  ䷠ — (Unicode 4DE0, Hexagram for Retreat).

PS what do I feed the punnekin with?

I find this strange.

This Blog has been viewed 141 times, but (so far) only 1 person has asked for a Personalised Hexagram.

Perhaps the same person has viewed it 141 times

Or the (up to) other voyeurs 140 aren't interested.

I am reasonably sure that the I Ching Hexagrams have something to say about this.

But I don't know exactly what that is.

Thanks Val, it might have been  another "7" at the end and I forgot to write it :-(

Let's see what happens !

Sorry, Val. I was reading the hexagram upside down. It was obviously intended to be No 22:

"Making something beautiful. This makes for only little actual progress, as it isn't about what actually matters. It is a good idea to have a goal for this."

Thanks Katerina for the Valentine's Day greetings and the Hexagram info. You should have s ent me <6 Hexagram numbers, but only sent 5 -- don't worry as I'll add a 6th...and try and get the right shade of Greek blue for you.....possibly with added silver, or even Greek white.

Alan...did I tell you to cook the Punnekin before you tried to eat it? I didn't? Oh dear.

My iChing numbers and mail art are in the Moonday mail to you, Val :-)

Make it Greek BLUE ...not too dark, not baby-blue (am I making your life complicated?)

Thank you for the i-ching hexagram card, and the punnekin which I received yesterday. I don't know what to do with the punnekin, but I looked up the hexagram and it is number 21, "Shih Ho, biting through". This explains that energetic biting overcomes obstacles, so I tried to bite the punnekin in half, causing severe damage to my teeth. The theme of this hexagram is stated to be a criminal lawsuit, which will follow in due course when I have received the dentist's bill. So your hexagram was accurate as an oracle!
