Why is the number of Mail Art Projects getting fewer and fewer each year? At this rate, soon there won't be any at all

Carien, now I am thinking about it!

Wow Katerina, that 's both interesting and impressive. I contributed to about 300 international exhibitions and then seemed to stop about Covid time. I also organised  4 or 5 international mail art exhibitions here in Sigean -- one of which, I believd at the time, was the biggest in Euope that year.

All the ones listed in my archives I did send to, but I meant to say that there were many other mail art projects that I could not meet the deadline, these are not on my lists. Mail Art projects have been posted at many places, even here at IUOMA there are a few groups for mail art calls including "Events" plus the "Discussion" area, and then sometimes on blogs or photos, profile pages, etc.

Doing a bit of research in my archives, Val, and it is true that Mail Art Projects decreased, especially after the 2020 Covid time, though since 2020 there still has been about 40-50 projects that I have sent. Many since Covid have gone digital/internet email art , maybe because of the high increase in postage as well as the high expense of documentation that Martha mentioned. I always love to participate, but since the one-and-only project we had in Thess in 2009, I will not organize another project.

Let me post the projects listed that i sent,

there are many that I had not sent, often too late to meet the deadline...

(some have several sendings, some "open ended"):

2023 were 40+

2022 were 41+

2021 were 46+

Ilya: Thanks, that link does indeed lead to other projects. But even taking those into consideration, the number of projects has fallen a lot.
