ha ha ha!
Whoa... bookmarkin' THAT! I can't stop laughing at Brian's foibles!!!
Trashpo is definitely the ultimate Realism. This piece has actual characters & Dhrama.
Yes, Thom the cards and everything were found on a daily trashhunt. Actually the D was part of a found tape ribbon a different day. I forget what it said now but like one of those caution tapes. Yes-that was Bad Luck Brian. http://www.quickmeme.com/Bad-Luck-Brian/ you can make your own caption for him, poor guy. I hadn't made the connection with the 'approved' sticker, but he sure needs more approval in his life. Glad you liked it Thom, I've been putting more 3D elements in my postcards out of curiousity of what condition they will arrive in.
No stain--I think that is just the poor quality of my cheap digital camera--or maybe a reflection off the big, clear celephane window that fronts the USPS envelope.
This piece is AWESOME--how you got your initials on there with the "D" and the "K"[ing] of diamonds... I love it when I find playing cards discarded or lost on the street or sidewalk. There are at least two cards on this piece (the other is glued face-down, so can't tell what number or suit it is). Did you find other cards from the deck on your treasure hunt?
Also, our plaid sweater-vested friend, Brian, makes an appearance, having "signed" the neon orange "Approved" ticket on the lower right... Remember Brian?? Who broke Marie's heart? Got the girl's number, then the phone was disconnected? ..Well, I thought that was a happy coincidence...
One SIDE of the staple holding on the top King of diamonds card came loose from the art; so now that King swings around in a circle like an interactive piece of the art! I tried to line it up with the original staple-puncture hole for the camera shot!!
I was just mentioning that the German P.O. is so much more polite, as they sent Erni a long formal letter of apology for 'damaging' a squished can I sent sans envelope. So now the USPS has made a liar out of me and been equally polite, assuming responsibility for damaging my trash. This is great. I'm glad it didn't get mangled and fed through their machine. I feel so validated to have someone officially deem this garbage! I found this all in one day and stapled it down. But I don't remember the back being all red? is that a stain? did some postmas spill KoolAid on it?
We must be having a Trashpo harmonic convergence.
This has to be one of the all-time great postal performance pieces. A formal apology for Trashpo! Maybe some day they'll join us, and the world will be as one.
...And an EXCELLENT specimen at that!!!!
