There's a Ghost in My Alphabet, Cheryl Penn

A wonderful boekie showed up in my mail box the other day!

The clever title characterizes Cheryl's work and way of thinking (well, at least a bit of her thinking)! The boekie has six double folded pages and the cover is made of canvas.

The ghost seems to constantly change depending how you look at the different layers. Cheryl has used a great layering technique and a mixture of photos, spray paint, collage, poems, lettering and stamping. Love it!

SKADONK: advective, something that is out of use and growing old and getting a little creaky around the edges, BUT can still work.

I officially call it a WORD!

Carina - never mind - your wonderful book is busy being photographed :-)! Whysalls's (where I get my photographs developed) photographic printer had broken down - AGAIN! THis drives the guy (Neville) and I NUTS! BUT there was this skadonk machine (skadonk - anyone out there use this word?) in the corner which uses strange paper. Strange because as soon as I spray-painted and stenciled, the photographic ink had a fit and dissipated. The result were MARVELOUS!  Anyway, after all that! Thank you for blogging - feel like swopping another book?????? :-) XX
