THE UNSPEAKABLE ViSIONS OF THE INDIVIDUAL.

That's what was written on Erni Bar's package when it arrived,  My scanner cut off about 1 1/4' OF EACH OF THESE Fasinating pieces.  So concentrated with imagery!  Thank you Erni!

oh, almost forgot:

many, many, many more...as "koomboloi" or Greek worry beads,

(perhaps once prayer beads?)

Great piece with the Turkish "nazar", or Greek "το μάτι"...

Here is the BIG and the tiny of it...

ftou, ftou, ftou..."φτου φτου, φτου, να μη σας ματιάζουν!"

'Just warding off the evil looks, jealous and envious foes.

and ΚΑΛΗ ΧΡΟΝΙΑ - Happy New Year!

Oh, my, looking at the beautiful "μάτια" on your wood piece, Erni! They are soooo Greek.

And archaeological research has found that they have their origins here and then went East

to India and Persia with Alexandros and his gang, then picked up by the Ottomans,

and then once again returned "home" to Greece and much a big part in its "Good Luck",

"Good fortune" culture! "The Evil Eye" that wards off Evil and brings you all the best

...for the New Year 2011, too!

Erni, tell us of the Hindu gods/goddesses on our collage masterpieces?

Mine holds the "komboloi" beads and a rose? Karen's is in red with deer on each side.

They are amazing! Thank you!
