At 06.29 CET on Tuesday 8 October, I am the ONLY one of IUOMA's 3,136 members to be online.
Does this mean that I am, albeit only temporarily --very temporarily, I hope -- representing in some way the whole Mail Art community?
If so, the responsibility is too much.
It is overwhelming.
I am overwhelmed.
I had better log off.
(But then who will take over?)
Good bye, Val
Comment
Thank you Vizma: how very cunning!
Right now, the Lil Green Dot (how's the Lil Red Bag, by the way?) and the wheel say that I am connected (for the first time ever in my life I've been connected to someone or something!) and that there are 3 other members online.
They can share the responsibility for all of this when the President calls later...
Snooky: you're not here, but I know I can always rely on you for a good loud Woof!
See the little wheel in the bottom right hand corner? Click on that and you can connect and disconnect to your heart's content. If you click on Members and scroll you can see who's around, just look for the green dot. Val, there's always someone watching!!
Angie: "You're never alone with schizophenia". (olde english graffiti)
Erni: that would buy a lot of stamps. Former EU Commissioner Martin Bangemann was 'heavy' in every sense, and he made a lot of money.
Anonymous comment received (that i feel duty bound to share with you all):
"You did a superb job, Val, managing the global Mail Art community all on your own -- if only for a short period of time.
How long were you in that position of great trust and responsibility? Knowing you, about 25 seconds I suspect".
(I couldn't possibly comment on the accuracy of this* nor reveal the source)
[* 31 1/4 seconds if anyone wants to know.]
Only €250/year? That's hardly enoughto buy stamps for your IUOMA buddies, erni. Stick to your other -- Haptic Werewolf -- job. You'll probably earn more.
In the meantime, I'll tell Angie that you're available, but at a much higher salary and pension deal.
Good luck!
Katerina: this suggests that all US IUOMA members have gone home and are thus non-essential government employees. That explains a lot (about both the Federal Government and Mail Art)!
(Now I am sure that I will be swamped with negative comments. I was only joking guys and gals! Y'all are essential -- even Jo Biden)
Erni: no you weren't on-line, because Mr Ning didn't aknowledge your presence. The White House and your Federal Chancellor, both tell me that you can't be on SPON and IUOMA at the same time. Angie wants to know if you'd like to be Minister of anything in her new o-be-formed government? Please reply directly to her.
Yay! 12 noon and now we are THREE!
Hi Rebecca! Hi Sarah! xxx
...ok, maybe ning is doing something with the "members online" thang???
today is not a holiday? Though my fellow-Americans may be on "shut-down"? :-)
