The Good News is that Dean has got out of gaol.

The Bad News is that he forget to collect his $200.

The Even Worse News is that he is probably wandering around Languedoc-Rousillon causing more trouble.

PS I will not be returning your contributions to the Rescue Dean Fund -- because I didn't get any. Not even the promise of a live or stuffed kangaroo from Dow Under or a live or stuffed olive from Harilou.

Only in France;

1) It turns out that skinny dipping in the Old Fountain in rue de la Vieille Fontaine is not illegal, and consider normal in Sigean.  However, the police officer did mention that there has not been water in the Vieille Fontaine for about 200 years.  That's why they call it the old Fontaine.

2) They have high speed WIFI, café au lait & croissants in jail.  Not to mention the clothes that look like bar codes.  A Brilliant idea, and very inspiring.

3) The police officer asked me to leave as I was tearing bits off my shirt sleeve and gluing them on cardboard.

But keep the donations coming anyway.  Katerina needs a new camera.

HELP! HELP!

I DESPERATELY NEED TO RAISE €20,000 BY 18.00 CET TODAY

Dean got rather carried away at the Birthday Party last night, and has been arrested.

He decided to go skinny dipping in the Old Fountain in rue de la Vieille Fontaine (which is where I live).

We told him that the Fountain was purely ornamental, and that there had been no water in it for 100+ years. But he insisted on going swimming.... well, you know what he's like.

So about 03.00 he took off his clothes and wandered off -- singing, lord help us all! -- in the direction of the Fountain.

At 03.25 two Gendarmes arrived to say that he had been arrested and was being held in prison, pending charging.

He can be released from gaol if a bond of €20,000 is posted before 18.00 today.

I don't have €20,000, alas, but have put up all the money I have -- about €4.75.

Bianca & Trouble have generously contributed the tail of a lizard (I have no idea where the rest of the lizard is) and a piece of string, respectively.

So, we are still lacking rather a lot of money, so do please make a contribution (to my usual Nigerian Western State bank account)

I'll be going to see Dean this evening, whether or not enough bail money comes in. i will be taking him some clothes, and, of course, a Prison Mail Art Kit.

So even if he's not released by the end of the day, y'all can expect to receive some Prison Mail Art next week....or perhaps in a couple of years time when he is released.

PS  Dean's arrest aside, we had a very good Party!! Katerina will, hopefully, and when she has sobered up, send you some photos .....not necessarily of the Party, though
