Received: Part I of Mail-art prints from Brent Leopold (Camp Hill, Pennsylvania, USA)

September 28, 2010 - In the expansive global community of mail-art, Brent Leopold and I are neighbors. I received one of my first pieces of mail-art as an IUOMA member from Brent. More recently, I saw some of his new prints posted on gail d whitter's blog (she's in Canada and a very interesting veteran of the legendary Vancouver poetry scene in addition to being a mail-artist). gail helped broker communications between Brent and me, which we are now doing well on our own; and he recently sent me a mail-art package of more than a dozen of his prints. Not only am I in awe of how they look (again scans just don't do justice) but I'm staggered by Brent's incredible output. He did a marathon production of about 4000 prints; and as I understand it, he produced about 1300 this summer. I'm going to try to run the whole set he sent me in two or three blogs:
