Received: Imagine Peace Add-and-Pass, Autumn Collage from Katerina Nikoltsou (Thessaloniki, Greece)

Add-and-Pass sheet for the mail-art Imagine Peace project included with collage by IUOMA member Katerina Nikoltsou (Thessaloniki, Greece)

November 27, 2010: New IUOMA friend Katerina sent me a first mail-art envelope last week. Katerina and I recently became friends officially. I have seen her beautiful work (including paintings) posted here at the IUOMA for months. We often are involved in the same discussion groups. So I feel like we have been friends for a long time. I was very happy to receive one of Katerina's autumn collages:

Beautiful use of torn paper with the wonderful inclusion of a leaf from the now-departing autumn. The address side is excellent too:

Katerina was very considerate to send me the add-and-pass sheet for Imagine Peace. She had to enclose it with the collages in a larger envelope that displays some very nice stamp work: project:

And the other side:

I am sure this is the beginning of many exchanges with Katerina. In addition to her mail-art, I like her paintings very much - especially her more abstract work. Thank you, Katerina Nikoltsou!

Mail-art color of the day: green (TYWB)

Mail-art word of the day: Rorschach (TYCP)

Mail-psychic: "You will receive an envelope filled with air."

I like the painted side a lot, and the envelope is really cool too. Are you hand carving your stamps Katerina?

Hi Katerina - your mail-art is so much in the spirit of Thanksgiving - autumn and time to do things like imagine peace. You know I took a real fancy to that add-and-pass. I'm thrilled to participate. One day soon when we're both here I will show you the abstract paintings of yours I have admired for so long. A bit of snow here today and all the fallen leaves - trees mostly bare. Glad we are friends.

Parakalo! 'Welcome DVS...I appreciate the comments, and most definitely we are friends. I wait for your mail art, which I am most intriqued by! Happy Thanksgiving in up-state NY!
