Received from Lisa Iversen, USA--Haptic Poetry

"Death is a low chemical trick

played on everybody except

sequoia trees."--J.J. Furnas

I don't know who J.J. is but what a trippy quote. And I don't know what kind of leaf this is either, but it's enormous and makes me wonder what it must have been like for the first person ever to succeed at making paper out of papyrus and wood. This leaf feels delicate and strong at the same time. Lisa did a great job of engineering the packaging too, unfortunately, my scanner won't adequately pick it up to show everyone. Thank you so much, Lisa.

Katerina, beautiful. I'll let people know we are using Robert Frost to talk about Lisa's poem. Yours is "Reluctance." Mine is "After Apple-Picking." Very, very nice - what a wonderful selection you made.

Are the leaves telling us something?
(same guy with DVS' apple picking..):
Ah, when to the heart of man
was it ever less than treason
to go with the drift of things,
to yield with a grace to reason,
and bow and accept...the end
....of a love...or season? r.f.

Kudos to both you and Lisa, Bifidus. I hope you won't find yourself expressing a sentiment such as:

For I have had too much
Of apple-picking: I am overtired
Of the great harvest I myself desired.

The haptic harvest seems to be upon us. I'll adjust my scanner, camera, accordingly. This is great!
