Received from Henry Denander, Sweden and Greece--The Poetry of Mr. Blue

Henry's little booklet is a short story about a poet who finds his poems expressed in paintings done by an artist who has never read his poetry. "And the more I see," states the narrator, "the more connections I find to things I've written this summer, I become really perplexed. I find painting after painting with titles or motives that are based on the poems I've written. It feels like I'm in a vacuum, everything else around me has stopped and is erased and gone."

Henry, currently living on Hydra Island also included some post cards of the local scenery:

Psychogeography was defined in the 50s by the Lettrist International group as a way of acknowledging that your surroundings affect your behavior and emotions, and encouraged strategies to get artists to see their surroundings in a new way. Henry has also included for me a watercolor done by him with strong colors and outlines that resonate Greek island living:

Thanks so much, Henry for sharing with me, through your writing and your artwork, what Hydra means to you.
