Rare Dean Marks piece at French flea market - SOLD!! (well, almost...)

Dean has sent me some mail-art while I was in France. Since there was a flea market coming up that weekend I though it was a perfect opportunity to get some good cash. I was sure of the success of this project, as the piece contained some rare british mail-art omens, as well as a unique "Manoir aux Visons en Alsace" address.

... oh yes, and also because my parents said no, this cannot be on the mantelpiece, nor can it be on the "table de chevet". Parents are so boring.

Day D, 5.00am:

I thought that 100 Euros was a very good price for this masterpiece. But time passed and....

Day D, 7.10pm:

I was starting to despair when the miracle happened. A movie star (or so she says) from Siberia, big fan of Dean Marks, heard of the event and took the first flight to Geispitzen. She is a mail-art collector, apparently, she said she had been looking for such a piece for years!! Comme quoi, il ne faut JAMAIS désespérer! :-)))

Did anyone get a copy of his IUOMA leave form?  He is suppose to submit all three copies two weeks before leaving.  It's the Dutch way of doing things of this nature.

DVS: I hope Ruud is OK.

The last message he sent (that I can find) was on 14 July. The last new member was admitted on 17 July.

So he raelly hasn't been heard of for about 2 weeks.

Perhaps he's on holiday/vacation?

We all miss Marie,  I hope things will be solved and she soon is back!

Life without Marie

A new worry: Is Ruud OK? Val's evidence is compelling.

I imagine Marie is "out there" reading our IUOMA comments and unable to respond. How fortunate we are here inside.

Our community works well. I've been here two years, and I haven't seen anyone banned except the spammers. I am hoping this will all turn out.

Signs that Ruud is away:

i) no New Mail Art projects have been posted for weeks -- only 3 for July, an all time monthly low

ii) no changes to the 5 favourite photos for weeks and weeks -- the 2 little red bags have been featured for ages, along with the Dutch going to the mailbox one. But in all this time hundreds of photos have been posted

iii) no new members added for about 10-14 days. I know this because I am welcoming and mentoring new members this months, and there haven't been any recently. There must be lots of people waiting to e accepted, amongst them Marie.

Has anyone heard from Ruud recently???

I hope he is OK..

And all of you, too.

Val

She only mailed one tooth. She doesn't have that many teeth to mail.

I believe Ruud is on vacation, yes. And maybe Marie could benefit from a "time out" after, to quote Rancher, all the "cussin and spittin."

Being very candid here, for someone so demure, Marie has turned up in the middle of some questionable things such as mailing her teeth, the Japanese sand, and even further back the condom mailing incident with Grigori.

I hope she hasn't been banned.

Seriously? Is Ruud on vacation? Either that or it must be frozen fantoms in the tech system.

Nancy, the problem is she re-applied days ago. She has not been approved to re-join.
