Perth gets Processed!

Hello from Perth, Western Australia!

 

As part of Fringe World, the inaugural Perth Fringe Festival, A bunch of artists are putting together a two week bonanza of art, examining to artistic process.

 

Processed! incorporates short term exhibitions, open studios and a series of workshops aimed at shedding some light on HOW art gets made, not just the end results. Involving the public on the process, we aim to share an understanding of the role of art in the community, and the many different forms art making can take on.

 

 

One of the workshops being run as part of Processed! is a mail art exchange.

Over the next month, I will collect as many submissions of mail art as possible, to display in the gallery space. Participants in the casual workshop will be invited to select a piece of work from the display, and reply to it in any way they wish - As long as it fits in the mail box!!

 

 

Mail art is a process-driven art form, as not only is there the process of creating the artwork, there is a definite process involved in delivering the art to the intended viewer(s). This is something I would like to spread awareness of, and hopefully encourage more people to become involved in!

 

 

This is where you come in I.U.O.M.A. members!

In order to spread the word on the world of mail art, I need generous donations of your works, for my workshop to run.
