More antique treasures - from Theresa Williams

Although this is my first envelope from her, Theresa must know my love for vintage and antique. And actually, more than an envelope, this was a very delicately wrapped present, what a fantastic thing to get in one's mail!

In a note to me, Theresa explains that she found old sewing notions in the drawer of her mum's treadle sewing machine, some of them probably 80 years old. Her collage with winter landscape feels very cosy, like one of those snowy days spent inside.... sewing of course. I love it Theresa, thank you for sending!

great work and a great blog--reading these comments is almost like coming across something holy and I realize more and more everyday that mail art is really sacred play.

Ohhhhh, Trash books! ...and trashpo, DK started something, didn't she? Great "punched cardboard", Theresa, I love all the little bits and pieces you used and I imagine all the "history" they have . Excellent "gif"...lucky Marie! And the photos are a joy to see, Marie, thanks for sharing.

I started a few "trash books" this week, well, more like "left-overs books", as they have materials that should never go in the trash but be recycled as art so "they can sing!", as Cheryl says. But the materials were in a bag full of "left-overs" from other projects, unused sandpaper, etc. etc. and so forth.

Theresa, I like what you sent me and DVS equally, and they are two very different things. Don't listen to him, he has given me this reputation of getting the better things, I don't know where from, he gets the best things all the time!!! AND complaining about it!! :-o

Yip, trashpo and found material go with the territory. I never dreamed I'd be picking up stuff in the street either, but it's addictive. People always send Marie better things than I get. Somehow, I've gotten this trashpo reputation. Why bother with the dumpster? Just send the trash to DVS.

Yes Marie, it's ok to have our "daze." I'm increasingly jealous you got the punktured cardboard from Theresa. That is really nice. I think she sent you what she meant to send me.

Yes, it is beautiful work. I think it's perfectly OK to have "Days", as she sent us completely different things there is no overlap.

Beautiful pics and wonderful work from Theresa. I like the cardboard especially. Cherry Blossom, I think we bloggers are going to need editorial meetings to avoid overlaps in coverage (see the blog I just posted). Oh well, it's Theresa Day at IUOMA.
