Lucky me - I received 2 works from Marie yesterday all the way from Japan. I must say I felt a sense of sadness when I saw the beautiful envelopes, knowing that when they were mailed Japan was in a normal happy state of mind.... by the time they arrived here  Japanese life had changed forever.

Marie your windmills contribution is wonderful, so interesting to see how everyone has portrayed the lyrics in so many ways. Your work is delicate and quite ethereal, looking through the clear windows to hazy blurred circles outside. Fragile stitching, rice paper and the blurred images all come together to make a truly lovely work. Thankyou Marie!

The second piece is I think from Marie's Tokyo Nights series, another blurred image which still manages to convey the feeling of the busy bustling city. The envelope is a work of art on its own. Thanks marie, I love these pieces!

Oh, I'm sorry Lesley, I only saw your blog post now. Thank you for put putting up and blogging so nicely. The blurred pictures are of plum blossoms. Spring had started then and all was very promising. But we will recover...

(oh hello HS...)

Nice blog Les - I love Marie's work.  One of the things I am looking forward to - getting back home and getting my mail!!!
