This exquisite-exquisite-exquisite piece arrived from Marie last month and blew me away. Others have written of Marie's book far more eloquently than I could, but here are her pages of this edition, with apologies for camera/scanner:

The rest follow in two comments. Thank you again for this incredible gift, Marie.

Very smart, Marie. Why oh why didn't I save the scanner's box? But it's really just the starting that is hardest. Once settled in and on the blogging road, I don't mind so much. (I neutered my scanner so it could have no gender-specific quirks and flaws.)

I had to come back here and thank all of you again. Scanning is by far my least favorite part of mail art, I know that was a lot of work for Nancy. I hate my scanner so much he's been punished and has stayed in his box for months :-))  (yes, it's a him - le scanner).

Have a good weekend genkis

That was just an idiotic rumor passed around by an idiot in OOB.

Well described, Diane (Marie's work). And could the prize be a scanning assistant? You'll do it? Ok, thank you. Marie said NOT to blog because of that, but some things you just can't not blog and still sleep. Even though behind on other blogs, too!

Stunning! I love how Japanese culture is always evident in Marie's work. It is so elegant, delicate, seemingly minimal, yet complex in a very ordered way. You definately win a prize for scanning Nancy!

:--D  Yes, it did come with a magnifying glass, which makes it look more its true size than it actually is. But maybe Picasso needs to be channeled to deal with this inanimate object vs human being question. That's probably a job for our brilliant Carina! (And I agree, Carina, the partly untamed quality of this book is definitely part of its appeal.)

Does it come with a magnifying glass? It looks really small but maybe it isn't.

Wonderful book, it looks so untamed but has a remarkable harmony!

Wooooo, Nancy, so many nice pictures, thank you!! Cheryl would say "mammoth job" scanning all this :-) I'm very happy you liked it!
