Somewhere I read a comment by Diane Keys that she does not like still lives with flowers and fruits and finds them boring. So when I received Diane's minimalistic postcard I thought of a special surprise. I went out and bought the ingredience to arrange a little still life especially for her. It is loaded with mail art related symbolism, such as BANANAS and TANGERINES.
I hope you like it! Thank you very much, Diane for the inspiration!

Did you mean watching the still life decay? Sorry, I have eaten the tangerines! Delicious! Its gone. Flowers and pomegranate are still there.
Diane, it is not easy to take decent pictures inside, without special lighting. I prefer natural light outside. But I came up with an idea and made an impromptu photography table opposite a south facing window, so the light would come in. And - you will love this - I built it on top of my rubbish bin. :-) I have dismantled it, but maybe I will do it again and then I send you a picture.
Well, I guess I am fascinated by transformation and rebirth. Sort of what grows out of rubbish.
The quality is much better than I can do with my phone, but the phone is so much easier right? Mine only turns out good outside. I think it's just perfect. It gives me the idea to do a trash backdrop for the trashpo i receive. Ernie and Bifidus did a rotting cheese installation/exhibit it would be cool to have this one documenting rotting I guess I'm obsessed with decay and transitioning from life to death
I love to do that. Maybe I could get a better camera. My beloved mirror reflex Canon ist still analog, so not very practical for this purpose. I did this with my iPhone.
I love this idea of creating backdrops for received mail art--whole new concept of collaboration!
Well, you have to send me your mail art and I will try.
Ha! This is great xx!! Fab idea!
I want a pomegranate now.
Thank you Katerina, you have been all so encouraging, keeps me going!
Are you from the US, Katerina?
A Chicago stamp on the stamp, and $4.99...I am getting homesick :-) Nice, DK!
Looks wonderful with Goethe and the fruits-flowers! Good job xxJones!
Diane I am so glad you like it. But I have to return the compliment - without your card it would be quite boring!
It is a bust of Goethe, German writer and poet, and colour therorist. He became famous when he was quite young with his novel "The sorrows (or sufferings) of young Werther" written in the form of a fictional exchange of letters.
