Actually, it was so easy to prevent this type of damage: just laminate with sellotape or any similar tape, and it will prevent sorting machine to break or tear the card. It was so negligible not to do that, it requires a minute and it saves the card !

Once, I received mail from Jimmy in a German postal service plastic envelope stamped with something like 'damaged in transit' on it. I'm surprised this didn't get that treatment.

Kind of strange. Similar happened with a card he sent to me around a year ago. I don't like to receive damaged mail. Sometimes, it is done by sorting machines. So one needs to be cautious when preparing pieces to send abroad.
