At the beginning of the summer an envelope arrived in the mail from Ray Haley who lives in Ontario, Canada. Ray Haley continues to work with young people in his church while also developing new skills in the plastic arts, making abstract expressionist compositions. On the back of some of the abstract gouaches are quotations from the Gospel of Luke, all done without flippancy to the Scriptures... The postal envelope is also worked with brushwork, and with great temperament, as if it were a Willem De Kooning brushstroke.
