CHROMATOPHORE the art show was shown on August 27th and the week following @ Studio 620. Thank you to everyone who participated in Chromo 09. It was an enjoyable night of mail art fun! We had many guests even though it was a stormy night. (about 150). We had lots of newspaper coverage--we were in several publications in print and online. And there was the radio interview on Art In Your Ear. So I was very pleased with the outcome and the community support. Many local artists came to the show and the rest of you were there in spirit! Thank you!

Hi Matthew, anything goes. The coffee shop (Globe Coffee Lounge in St. Petersburg, FL) is pretty big and can handle whatever you got going! Only guideline is family friendly as kids also participate in the show. Paper doll sounds really interesting but you pick! Chromatophore is a CELL that can change colors! There are animals like octopus, cuttlefish, squid, chameleon, and even some bacteria who have the cells and can adapt to their backgrounds. We caught an octopus this summer and I was so inspired by it that I came up with this theme for the 2nd annual mail art show! I would love any entries and will proudly post them on the blog... www.jenniferzoe.blogspot.com. You don't have to use the chromatophore theme either... it's mail art... and it's all about you! I know sometimes people like an idea to get them started... Happy Mail arting!

Ooh! Exciting. I'm not sure whata chomataphore is, are there any guidelines? I usually make ATCs, bookmarks, book plates, and paper dolls. Is there a specific format you are looking for? Size? Shape? I can adapt to many things, even though the mediums I am talented in are somewhat limited. Please let me know. I would love to participate.

Yes, I forgot about that whole date thing. You are brilliant Gianni... sorry for the mix up Martha! (The message does say "next fall" for the show though). Oh well... I'll keep in mind to write August 1, 2009 next time.

I might be wrong, but I guess Queen Martha, who is British royalty, thought that 8.1 stood for January 8th. Actually it's August 1st, isn't it? Am I clever enough?

Sorry Martha, next time I'll try to get the message out two years in advance...
