June Sea

Ok, I haven't moved Construction Sea yet. I've been behind on IUOMA (& publishing) because of an expensive root canal I deemed appropriate to endure. Just sent out some postcards of my own this week & have been opening letters received since the end of last year, 2018. So here is a small collection of jpegs from my desktop. Enjoy!

mailing from c.r.e. wells (OH), Faint Press: Spring Meetings is a 2019 booklet of poems. The image in the upper right is on glossy photo paper.

8x10 colab painting from Diane Keys: received this week, perhaps the final return of the 8x10 project, soon to be hung together in my gallery. Visit https://the8x10colabproject.blogspot.com/

another Diane Keys/ MTS colab, on paper

colab with DeVillo Sloan: I've been asked but find it difficult to get into the rhythm of working with Sloan's material. Working on it. Xerolage #71 is a great collection of his work, just out. Visit: https://xexoxial.org/is/xerolage71/by/de_villo_sloan ;

from John Foster: working on the ton of works Mr. Foster has been sending me.

"LoganPo" by MTS

2 recent works by MTS: I enjoy working with every bit of trash I find. Recently began working with the plastic strips we tear off the top of frozen food packages. The work on the left features a lot of blue strips. Also enjoy working with quarters wraps. Need to wash that laundry!

political collage by MTS: raises the question, "Why isn't Busta Bus the judge?"

2 nature theme works by MTS: These works are inspired by nature & begun in a new collage group I work with, here in Madison WI. We attempt to meet once a month. Working with people outside IUOMA & poetry projects provides yet another outlet, source of new ideas.

from a type of American advertising I can only call "SaUSAge Concrete": Concrete poetry is very familiar to the average Brazilian. In the USA, concrete in advertising seems to be the strongest when advertising food. I'm curious to see how this collection grows.

mailing from "Richard C." (of Illusion): Richard usually sends me postcards. This weekend I was treated to an envelope full of work. There is a very outside chance that Richard will participate in the 8x10 project, as I was informed the works were not lost in the mail after all, but in a very slow moving state of creation. & there is another artist involved (!), but I'm moving forward with the collection as is.

from the Spacecraft series by MTS: This 2-page collage is from the 1st collage group events. The base material for the works is from a book published in 1961 about the new space program.

I hope you enjoy this blog entry & I hope to get to the bottom of my incoming IUOMA work asap. Expect weird postcards from me in the meantime.
