Four pieces of mailart have been sent to Eduardo Munez. Each envelope contains another work of art that explores the challenges of communication, and the dissonance that occurs between transmission and receipt; the picture and the viewer; the writer and the reader; the speaker and the listener. This process of decoding another’s intentions and re-framing them within our own paradigms results in a creative tension, where we strive to establish common understandings. This tension can be intensely dramatic, or softly lyrical.
