Here in the USA we celebrate Thanksgiving Day as one of our most important holidays of the year. It is nearly always a day for gathering with friends and/or family and reflecting on the things for which we are most grateful. For most this is a religious observance, For me, a die-hard non-believer, it is nonetheless a spiritual occasion.

This year I am especially grateful for my mail-art correspondents and for the world-wide network of mail artists. You have given me space for my creativity that promotes art without the arrogant, crippling institutions of the critic, the gallery, the academy, and the patronizing "culture" of the world's wealthiest. A forum for creative expression without per-ordained filters for talent, training, passing fads and appropriateness. It is a gift to me and to civilization, IMHO, and I am thankful for it...and for you, my friends.

Happy Thanksgiving, Dan!  As a "die-hard" believer, I send you blessings and wishes for health and happiness in your life.  I agree with you that IUOMA has been a wonderful venue for sharing art and ideas without an "editor" of any kind.  I have enjoyed corresponding and sending art to all the friends I have met.  Here's hoping that the New Year brings you inspiration and vast amounts of energy to put into your creative endeavors.
