from Dr. Zack, an incredible origami mail-art, 3-dimensional of course, that arrived completely intact from France to Maine USA

Origami stars, yes? Beautiful (and jaw-dropping to one who has never accomplished any origami):

Those images are from a scanner, which doesn't do the piece justice. What a mail-art day when it arrived, and that it had survived the USPS in these times seems like a miracle. With apologies for lack of a decent camera, I'm adding a very flawed photo taken with a laptop camera, but it shows the dimensionality at least somewhat. I hope.

Thank You, Dr. Zack, for this fabulous mail-art surprise! It's still sitting like a little suitcase on a shelf seen all the time, where I wonder at it every day. If only we could have been flies on the wall throughout its journey to get here -- maybe one of us could have written a book.

The laptop camera photo, such as it is:

Many thanks again, Dr. Zack.

Wait, I mean it's a softer and thinner plastic than the acrylic plexiglas I've touched myself.

Hi Penelope, it's not plexiglas--it's plastic, incredibly. I'm not sure if Zack constructed it or if something else came in it and he reused it, but it seems miraculous that it survived the French post, U.S. post, AND the trip over the Atlantic! The stars he made are beautiful, and I do love it.

Wow, that is incredible! Is the case made of plexiglass? I am intrigued.
