DKult KarD & More! by Joey Patrickt (Oakland, California, USA)

Joey - 7.25.2016 - 1

Mail art by IUOMA member Joey Patrickt (Oakland, California, USA)

July 25, 2016 - As I continue to bring my work received documentation up to date, I am thrilled to be able to share some outstanding pieces by Joey Patrickt in Oakland. First, it might appear that I am either receiving or promoting a lot of art from or associated with the San Francisco Bay Area. This is just some strange geographical/statistical anomaly that will surely run its course. At the same time, it is worth noting network activity is certainly vibrant in Northern California.

I am appreciative indeed that Joey Patrickt devoted an entire piece to DKult (and thus Trashpo). I am somewhat surprised too. You see, DKult made Joey “an offer he couldn’t refuse,” or so we thought. DKult offered to establish a special California chapter just for Joey (DKULTJoey). He seemingly rejected the proposition in some previous mail art, although Joey Patrickt’s position on DKult and DKULTJoey remains obscure. But now we do have this one, wonderful piece for the International Museum of Trashpo. Here is a detail scan of the historic work:

I have received other FAB Joey Patrickt pieces as well:

I have become familiar with his work, and I have grown to be a big fan. I believe this set is among the finest I have received from him to date. You can see an interesting example of recycled mail art here:

Deepest, albeit belated, thanks to Joey Patrickt for this spectacular m-a!
