How nice to receive an actual handwritten letter on blue lined paper from Thom, my first mail from him. Thom writes so well, describing his life camping on the Olympic Peninsula near Seattle, salmon goings on, some Algonquin sayings and the symbiosis between fish and trees - great reading! I could just picture it all. Included is his little booklet about his camping trip with his niece and nephew, and their drawing project. What a clever way of folding a large piece of paper into a little booklet, I will try this for future Mail Art Thom! Thom's envelope is illustrated with his totem salmon stamps and the Algonquin text.... There's also a drawing of a clock from downtown Seattle and some airmail stickers (a hint I think!) Thanks Thom for this exciting mail!

I looooove getting letters. He DOES write very well. And draws, too. Some people are multi-talented!

Glad the postman came through for me and delivered the goods!  And you and Brad are right--there is some self-serving joy in dropping a completed letter in the postbox.  As much pleasure to be derived in giving our handiwork away, as there is in imagining the the little spark of curiosity and happiness being received at the other end of the postal journey...

Normally the airmail etiquette is the final part of Mail Art before being shoved into the post box on its long journey to far off lands - so , yes satisfying somehow! Another job done.....

Ummmm, etiquettes.  That's what some call "airmail stickers".  I love etiquettes and handstamps applied to mail.  They are so satisfying, somehow.
