Curiosities in an original package from Laurence Gillot

Who wouldn't love this packaging? The "container" below slides into the "sleeve" above:

Enclosed was a group of what Laurence referred to as curiosities, and she was right. Cool stuff. Curious packages are always welcome here--thank you kindly, Laurence!

"these talismanic collections of things " or fetichisme ? cause often Le cabinet de curiosités is a whole other thing !

Smithsonian. Yes, that's it!

Yours was a noble idea. I think I'll try it, and now that you've mentioned it many others probably will too.

Is recycling an acceptable outcome? Let's hope so. It's so tempting, yet ... I'm afraid.

Looks like we all have these talismanic collections of things we can't bear to part with and yet....they don't quite fit into any one piece. I finally put mine into a shoe box and thought, "I'll attach one item to each piece I sent out." It was a noble idea. This particular collection looks almost Smithsonian. All it needs are numbered explanations. Nancy, I believe I once parsed that you might have been a curator (curatess?) in a past life. Maybe that's why these traveling exhibits arrive at your doorstep. (Breaking: Just received a similar collection from Diane which I am busily recycling. I hope that's an acceptable outcome).
