Comment by Mail Art News on Tuesday: I've been exploring the idea that the mushrooms (fungi in general) shaped us into sentience in order to prevent asteroid impacts and prevent another ice age. This guy does appear to be metaphysically or astrologically serving some kind of mushroom. So it fits in nicely. Of course, you've heard of the Stoned Ape Theory, but this takes it bit further.

Fungal spores can reportedly survive in space and could therefore travel along interstellar winds (panspermia).

Just how vast is this mushroom network. You've heard they make giant networks underground to talk with plants, so they have quite a role in managing the planet.
