Clouds' illusions - from Katerina Nikoltsou

Bad films and music won't last very long in Katerina's house. She found a great way to recycle them into fantastic mail art and to give them a new and better life.

Katerina was inspired by Joni Mitchell's song "Both sides now". Clouds, life, love, and their illusions. It's a wonderful song, I can't listen to it too much because it tends to make me cry (like Emma Thompson in that film).

I've looked at life from both sides now,
From win and lose, and still somehow
It's life's illusions I recall.
I really don't know life at all

I love the choice of colors and the brush strokes. The clouds are floating so lightly, masterfully painted.
And on the other side of clouds..... a rainbow, always.
Katerina, this is beautiful, I will cherish it, thank you for sending!

You have one of the few painted envelopes, Marie.

At the post office, the clerk frowned and said : "Better just white envelopes"!

So most of the next set that I sent out are not painted :-(

And there are only a few that had the dark green and blue...

( it does look like the earth from space! Didn't notice that. Thank you, Angie!)

and only 4 or 5 with the cut-and-pasted text...as I had trouble with the glue :-(

Well, fun to experiment!

I like your cloud/rainbow concept, Katerina. That paint on the CD seems pretty sturdy to me, no sign of a chip yet. Maybe the one on the plastic part of the sleeve is more fragile, yes.

Thank you for your comments!

Thank you, Marie...thank you gals, for the kind words. The CD is not Joni Mitchell, no. We get free CDs and DVDs with the Greek Sunday newspapers, and some are, well, not my taste, or just poor quality and do not play.Cleaning out shelves, I could not "throw" them away, so I painted them...and there is always a beautiful "rainbow" on the flip side :-)

I am happy to see that they are arriving in distant lands with only the "postcard" postage! However, I don't think i will make many more, i see that the acrylic paint really does not adhere all that well to the surface..it will chip off :-(

The top pic is beautiful, the CD in the envelope. Beautiful layers Kat!

Is it a Joni Mitchell CD too?
