Lesley's delicate touch makes her art so ethereal and I can't help but think in some way her characters are the flip side of Nadine Wendell Mojicas' -or another aspect or interpretation of the same cast of characters in the collective unconscious. Such a gift to receive art from her. She always includes the Best South African trash too thank you Les!

One of my favorite artists is William Steig (Cats,Dogs,Men,Women,Ninnies and Clowns). He also has that blind,loose quality to his work. And of course his work is very odd. A bonus in my book.

I draw these "blind" ie looking at the model and not at my page, I often draw like this as it gives the drawing an expressive feel, rather than a neat tight drawing.... and I love drawing faces, cant stop myself!

you're so right Nadine-there is a definate similarity between their styles. they have the same haunting qualities as yours too. I think it would be cool if you drew bodies on Lesley's faces

Lesley's beauties are indeed a mystery to me. How effortless they appear yet we know only the very best artists are able to take their pen or brush and fingers and do that. Frider is like that as well.
