Thomas sent me this schematic of a chess game -- I had to figure out that's what it was by the names on the other side, famous chess masters who are listed in Wikipedia. I am learning more stuff on this site!

Thanks for posting. Those geometric symbols are easier to draw than the standard symbols, plus they hint at how the pieces move so I like them, but I also like the standard types of symbols seen in this postcard which I am mailing out to San Francisco. People used to play postal chess before the internet. They'd stamp the positions on a postcard and mail it of to their opponent, one move at a time.
