it's going in the vault as a potential fibrous food source in the event of a lockdown

Another fan of Keith's work on his own cut 5x7" boards. Something about that size and thickness...not to mention the art with it.

DK, we probably aren't all wondering where your "vortex" came from. But run with it! I'll try to myself.

Think of Dkult Industrial Complex as a building with a synthetic soul--a living, breathing vortex of collective consciousness.  Your board is very solid. When you get mail art like that--you KNOW you have received mail art.

Property of DKult Industrial Complex? Sounds like you landed a government contract there. Perhaps some black-ops subterfuge, surrealist, mind-bending experiments on the unsuspecting masses?

Accrue and consolidate your power.
DKult is not to be trifled with.

I've taken to buying large sheets of that board [super(duper)-cheap] and cutting up 5" x 7" blanks for a ready-to-go pile of 'canvases.' I like that size; oddly, it falls within the golden ratio, so I'll not try to question why I feel compelled to work that proportion. And the board itself is good to work in my rather wet media process . . . not too much warping; however, as are most paper surfaces, some dry-pressing is required here and there.

I still collect loads of 'trash' for surfaces to work, but I like the option of not having to see what avails itself as a useful substrate.

Thanks Keith--I knew it wasn't Sinatra, but that was my first thought. I love your nice thick matte board you work on

The musician/singer is none other than a very young Bing Crosby. This pic was probably taken way back in his years with the Paul Whiteman Band, then known as a member of the vocal trio, The Rhythm Boys . . .
