Cardboard Quartet: Erica Durante, Jay Block, Richard Canard & Mud Head

quartet 7.2.2018 - 1

Mail art by IUOMA members (top) Erica Durante (Waldwick, New Jersey, USA) and Jay Block (Bridgewater, Massachusetts, USA)

July 2, 2018 - This blog is a serenade to the popular postcard format in contemporary mail art and a chance operation gathering of some great mail art recently (and not so recently) received. Both Jay Block and Erica Durante are faithful postal friends who brilliantly play the postcard like a plaintive violin. Here are the reverse sides:

Let’s take a closer look at the Mud Head piece. It’s a hidden gem! (Note: Mud Head’s address has changed in the past months, so you should check with him to find out what is current.)

No rush at all, if ever, not to worry. Yah, the spider web, where various parts of life/art can happen to one's joy and at times fright. Like everything.

That's true, about randomness. I like how it worked here.

Thx NBS. BTW - getting back to AF and some of your work soon!

We need Ruud Janssen and his "Network Physics" concepts. Isn't the network a spider web where everyone is feeling (and seeing) vibrations that cause them to react and respond?

It's great when randomness adds up to something. But I guess it doesn't always.

This is a very interesting combination of bloggees. Kind of goes all over the (a?) map, and in a good way. Somehow they speak to each other while covering a whole lot of varied territory. Nice blog, DVS.
