An appreciation from Rebecca Guyver (Suffolk, UK)

Rebecca - 6.10.2014 - 1

Mail-art by IUOMA member Rebecca Guyver (Suffolk, UK)

June 10, 2014 - Rebecca Guyver was showered with awards in the MinXus-Lynxus Who Has The Best Hair Contest. It now appears that those accolades were a foreshadowing that 2014 would be a good year for her. She sent me documentation of her artistic triumphs so far. First, the wonderful stamps on the envelope tell of her far-flung contacts and fans in the Eternal Network. She is honored among Trashpoets and DKulters and is very active in DKULTUK:

This new stamp is great!

Her recent exhibition was a FAB success (as a recent IUOMA blog testifies). I deeply appreciate that she sent me the exhibition brochure that includes a section of my asemic vispo:

The top portion background is my humble contribution.

And a very kind note:

Thanks, Rebecca, for sending all the wonderful documentation. Congratulations on your shows and mail-art calls!

Bummer, Rebecca. Had to move in w/ your mother. Times are tough. But seriously...

Tic Tac is the color half. Wow. Thanks for pointing that out.

Congrats on all the great things you are doing.

Lots of positive feedback from people who saw the invite!  The pink is Tic Tac and the B & W DVS.  I didn't make the flyer, a designer asked me to send her some mail art images and she chose!  I think both images are brilliant and certainly not 'a humble contribution'!

as for the envelope: the label is an altered photo of one of my mother's astilboudes.  I hand picked the leaves off a big patch of them.  They barely had their heads poking up when I arrived and were about a foot tall when I left.  When I return they will be a few feet! The stamps are what I do in the evenings to stay awake when I am on Cranberry in the spring.  My mother has THE best stamp carving tools.
