Also from Diane in the same envelope ...

One gorgeous collage: She included several interesting tidbits, and among those here is the main eye-catcher:

Her note is included above to show the relief it would provide here in OOB and Diane's great sensitivity to safety. As a leading trashpo figure, she probably needs to promote her sense of safety; otherwise, we might lose 99% of at least this country's population as potential trash poets. This blog is my effort to help the safety cause, even though personally I spend almost no time worrying about safety. Don't believe in it. Thanks, Diane!

They seem to be interested in taking care of themselves only (however they choose to), and then don't give a flying flock about other people. We get some trash-incredible on the beach too, but it's hard to tell if they appeared overnight due to humans or if they washed up from someplace else ... also due to humans. Hey, I do appreciate the disclaimer, believe me-- without it I'd have been a big tad less blase!

I definately had to put a disclaimer to you about it NOT being a condom because that would just have been over the top and a bio-hazard, but that's the other one that gets me. I see a ton of condom wrappers on the ground--how is a person who is having sex on the streets, near the streets-I'm assuming in their cars, who throws the wrapper on the ground, so conscientious and responsible that they think to use protection? It seems a contradiction to me. And I did see a needle during a walk one day. That was disturbing and again I wonder how and why they are shooting up on the streets or in their cars and toss the needles on the ground.

The more I look at it, the funnier this bit of trashpo is. Even the name. I mean, really. Definitely no concern by the buyer that anything might be too obvious; not one single thing. If Walmart weren't so big, it probably would have been purchased there. But it wasn't, was it.

Oh yah, love the dyed piece too! I called it a collage because you pasted 2 or 3 items on there. You are magical with dye.

All of this plus the Dkult booklet was in an envelope on a pile of mail art on the verge of being blogged. But then your trashpomobile+ arrived, and that got to the top of the pile first.

Thanks for blogging Nancy. I thought that was a great trashpo find, as I had never actually seen anything like that. although it is way TMI, it does tell quite a story of someone anticipating a very good evening, yet who feels insecure about their prowess. It also says that they are not overly concerned with their privacy OR the environment. I am also guessing this is an impromptu meeting as it was no doubt purchased at the gas station or walgreens up the street. I love trash that tells a story, but you knew that:) Glad you like the dyed piece too.
