I promise I'll leave Miss Olivier Moon Lisa & Richard C to the fun of boring postcards, cat groups & naughty Italian add & passes that normal kids engage in at IUOMA - AFTER I share this amazing letter by Ray Johnson (1974) I found when searching for info on the Blue Eyes Club (which was a real mail art club!) It recently sold at auction and I think a true classic!

I meant Harry I. Ball in the second reference.

Thank you, Richard C, for answering my question directly.

My apologies to Olive Moonflake. I can only imagine what it must be like to be a new IUOMA member & suddenly thrust into a whirlwind of history & arcane references. Please carry on & ignore that man behind the curtain!

Like so many, I believe Richard C seeks subtle signs that Diane Keys has returned to IUOMA. Yes, the "hairy eyeball" aka "Harry Eyeball" aka "Hari {Krishna] Eyeball" was a mail art symbol used by some extreme elements of the D-Kult. But I am convinced Olive's connection to the symbol is "chance operations." The Hari Eyeball appears on the U.S. dollar bill. Do the Kulters control our currency?

Is Mooncake a reference to Moan Cake (Moan Lisa)? I think not.

Again, my apologies to the Princess.

19 .08.20 Dare Princess Olivia Mooncake & Mister DeVillo Sloan, .... & if I may intervene & respond directly--- No, no  little or naught to do with Ray Johnson & his" Blue Eyes Club"  rubber stamp (wasn't it a rubber stamp gesture?) I do seem to recall seeing this surface periodically in his mailings...possibly it had to do with those he knew that  actually had blue eyes???---not really sure. My little drawing however, is a poorly copied reference to a motif often drawn by a mail artist that Princess Olivia Mooncake & I happen to mutually know. SinCelery, Richard Canard

Dare Ms. Moonflake, would you ask Richard C if he got the idea for this blue-eyed angel drawing from Ray Johnson's Blue Eyes Club? This answer to his question came to me immediately yet I'm not confident the drawing is a reference to the Blue Eyes Club. Regards dvs
