Back in October, I started a group here at IUOMA called THE EPISTOLARIUM. I said that my goal was to create a small free PDF journal for people to read that would be posted at my blog, "The Letter Project." The journal, also called THE EPISTOLARIUM will be a themed journal. The first theme was, appropriately, "the epistolarium." I asked people to answer the question, "What is the epistolarium to you?"
I received a variety…Continue
A few weeks ago I sent out a call for mailart and letters on the theme of SMALL THINGS. I've been posting the pieces I've received at THE LETTER PROJECT, a blog I've been keeping for about three years. Today, two works arrived from different people that I believe take the theme to a new level. I got work from Richard Canard and Simon Warren. Both of them…Continue
The first arrival for my mailart call about SMALL THINGS is from Mim. Please send mail to me on the theme of SMALL THINGS. Each piece will be blogged and possibly included in a PDF magazine called "The Epistolarium." Send to:

I have a group here at IUOMA called Literature and Art. It's the home of my New Arzamas Literary Circle. New Arzamas is always looking for letters. I love letters. I love words. I love seeing how people put words together.
The photo is of my husband holding up the mail I got recently from Simon Warren.
I've received over twenty small panels from Simon. Most of them arrived in October and November 2011, sometimes more than one at a time. I've seen some…Continue
Firstly, I wish to thank the people at the New Tombstone group for participating in the First Annual Hallowe'en Ball. The Ball was definitely a success. Secondly, some of you may remember when Superhero sent out Minotaur cards. He sent one to me, and I made a poem and piece of artwork in response. I asked him not to share them because an online magazine wished to publish them. If you are interested, you can read the poem and see the artwork here: …Continue
I received a mailing today without return address called Letters of Happiness. Inside were three envelopes. Two have my name and address on them with a stamp and drawing of a pelican. One envelope is blank but on the back it is written "For me Please send me."
Can someone tell me how I am to respond to this intriguing mailing?
If you ever need to book entertainment for an event, KDJ Enterprises is the pace to go. Not only has she secured Einstein with his fabulous cat taming act, she also has David coming to the Hallowe'en Ball dressed as Elvis.
Oh, KDJ, you are my…

Roberto volunteered for the decorating committee and has come up with some winners! The witch and the pumpkins and the cats take me back to childhood, Roberto. And I love the Hallowe'en Grog! Mmmm. Not to…Continue

KDJ Enterprises will be providing entertainment at the 1st Annual Halloween Ball at the New Tombstone Group here at IUOMA.
(Yesterday when my husband picked me up from work he said, "You got something in the mail you're…Continue
Can't even begin to say how much I love this card. First because KDJ's imagination is so precious and profound. Second because I love Frida and Diego. Third because I LOVE Halloween!!! Thanks KDJ for making this one of my…Continue
Sometimes you just feel the weight of the world on your shoulders. It doesn't matter why. What matters is the feeling, the weight of responsibility. When you feel like that, you think only a miracle can lift the weight. I got some miracles in the mail yesterday and today from KDJ.
I took over Val's Tombstone group because I wanted to do something that would be fun. Even my mailart has a tendency to get weighty with meaning. I thought about how much I enjoyed Halloween…Continue
ABOVE: The inside of Marie Wintzer's "I COULD NOT SEE" shows life and language held together by a small, winding thread. The unraveling cheese cloth and the picture negative suggest a sense or quality of being unfinished, of not quite having things together, of waiting for further developments. The outside of the booklet is brown, leatherlike, and seemingly…Continue
You're invited to the 1st Annual Hallowe'en Ball at the New Tombstone Group!
KDJ, ChaosAtlanta, and I have already been making preparations.
To participate, send your Hallowe'en-inspired art to anyone and post it under the discussion for the Ball at New Tombstone. Especially send it to me: Theresa Williams, 1800 Bowling Green Road East, Bradner, OH 43406-9783 USA.
Here are a few of the preparations we've already…Continue

This is a mighty precious thing. All kinds of little trinkets, gifts in the little envelopes, Thom's writing throughout. A feast for the eyes and brain.
I finally received a long-awaited piece from Nancy Bell Scott today. It was sent once, then returned to her for twenty cents more postage. Then she wrapped it in a homemade envelope and sent it again. Sometimes something is worth the wait, and this is the case with Nancy's art.
The second mailing also includes an extra treat. A pretty little folded card inside a clear gold envelope. Here, I think I should say a thing or two about my relationship with Nancy. She joined IUOMA at…Continue

I was surprised today to get this card from Richard Canard. In the letter portion, he comments on some statements I made here at IUOMA. I love the postcard image, how he subverts the advertiser's original intent. Thank you, Richard. I'll try to get something to you soon.
